Why Do We Recommend Sony SRS-XB13 Extra Bass Bluetooth Speaker?
Made To Last: Many people prefer to have the XB13 as their party partner simply because it’s tough as nails. It is IP67 certified too, which means you can even dunk it in water, and it’ll come out unscathed every time.
Excellent Acoustics: The XB13’s sound quality is surprisingly good for its size and affordability. The bass is thumpy and punchy, with well-balanced mids and highs. The sound does not distort at greater volumes, which is always a plus. Of course, the audio quality won’t be as good as some of the other high-end speakers, but it’s still incredibly good.
Immersive Sound Through DSP Technology: This speaker’s equipped with a sound diffusion processor, which gives the audio a wider sound stage. In other words, it creates an illusion of expanded sound, making it seem like the music is coming from all around you.
Super Portable Design: If you need something you can just grab and go, the XB13 is ideal. It’s small, lightweight, and has a strap that lets you carry it around without hassle. Plus, it’s waterproof, which makes it even more convenient for travel since you don’t have to carry it in a plastic bag to protect it in case it rains.
Impressively Long Battery Life: Another huge thing that sets this speaker apart as an entry-level option is the battery life, which you get 16 hours of. Some mid-range models don’t even last more than 10 hours, so this is a really big deal.
Convenient For Calls: The XB13 has an in-built microphone that lets you take hands-free calls. So you can chill wherever you are and talk to people without holding your phone. The quality of the mic is good, too; the voice of our testers came out very clear at the caller’s end, even with some noise playing in the background.

Things To Note
Max Volume Could Be Higher: When cranked up to full volume, there’s no distortion in the audio. However, the volume itself could be a tad higher. If you’re outdoors, the sound might not carry as well as you’d like it to. Although for closed indoor parties, we can say that it can play music more than loud enough.
Short Bluetooth Range: The Bluetooth connection’s range is a bit underwhelming. It starts to break apart and cut out at 10 metres, which is far shorter than we’d want. However, this is relatively normal for most entry-level and mid-range Bluetooth speakers, so it’s not a deal breaker. This speaker, however, has an ace up its sleeve: it can connect to a device far faster than the ordinary speaker. You’ll get a nearly instant connection.

This speaker rates right by the top when it comes to sheer durability. If you’re one for an active lifestyle, we highly recommend going for it. The performance isn’t anything to scoff at either. The Sony SRS-XB13 can push out great audio, especially if you listen to it in a room. It also works well with almost all types of music, so it can be a superb pick for house parties.
However, watching movies with it felt like we were using a speaker of average quality. So, if that’s what you’re going to do, for the most part, we suggest checking out other options in the list instead. It’s still an excellent option all around, and it even has a mic, which is always a plus.
