This might be surprising, but Philips also has a hand in the home theatre game. The SPA8000B/94 is a 5.1-channel system that offers 1000 watts of power output. In terms of performance, it’s on par with all the other high-end home theatres we’ve tested. It has great sound quality, a deep, punchy bass, and clear highs. The build quality is also top-notch, with a solid 8-inch subwoofer and 5 satellite speakers.

Here’s Why You Should Buy The Philips SPA8000B/94 5.1 Channel Multimedia Speakers System
Incredibly Versatile: This sound system can play files from various sources, and it does so flawlessly, whether from a PC, TV, or Phone. It can even play music files from a USB drive. So you can play your favourite tunes straight from where you have them without having to move things around.
SD Card Support For Extra Convenience: Though a small feature, it can still be incredibly handy. We figured it deserved to have its own highlight, as not even most other high-end systems have this. It means that you can play your music without even having to use a phone or computer.
Never Run Out Of Content With FM Radio: We all know how convenient it is to just tune into our favourite radio station and let the day roll by. This system has an in-built FM receiver, so you can enjoy doing just that.
Enhanced Clarity: Whatever you’re playing, the audio is always clear and rarely comes out boomy. During our tests, we only saw slight distortions beyond the 80% volume range, but they weren’t noticeable enough to be considered cons. You can even improve the audio; you can find out how in this post. All the tips in it apply to all home theatres.
Durable Build Quality: As people don’t move their home theatre systems around often, durability is something most brands often overlook. On the other hand, Philips has ensured its product can withstand a few bumps and bruises. The subwoofer is made of wood, which gives it a solid and premium feel.
45W Subwoofer For The Best Bass: The subwoofer on this system is incredibly powerful, and that showed during our tests. The bass was always deep and punchy, without ever being overwhelming. If you’re a fan of action movies or EDM, then this system will not disappoint.

A Few Notes
Remote Needs A Lot Of Improvement: The SPA8000B/94 comes with a remote, but it’s not the best we’ve seen. The range is only 10m, which can be a problem if you have a large room. Additionally, the buttons are small and close together, so it can be easy to press the wrong one accidentally. Lastly, there are no controls for the bass or treble, which is a bit of a letdown.
Max Volume Makes Audio Weird: Before we start, let us say that medium-high volume is more than enough for the audio to be easily heard, even in busy rooms. With that being said, we did notice that the audio started to sound a bit “off” once we passed the 90% mark. It’s not a deal-breaker but something to keep in mind.

Our Thoughts
This Philips SPA8000B/94 5.1 Channel Multimedia Speakers System is especially good for music, with the finely tuned subwoofer that offers just the right amount of bass. If you’re going to set up a system in a small room, then this home theatre system is an excellent choice. You can even compare this system’s sound production quality to that of Sony, it’s not as good, but it comes very close.
